Marketing
and Clinical Materials for a Wound Care Company
Situation:
National Healing (National), a national provider of
wound and disease management solutions for hospitals and wound
treatment centers needed better clinical materials for its
National Clinical Meeting.
Challenge:
National lacked the corporate marketing personnel to create,
develop, and implement the clinical materials needed for the
National Clinical Meeting.
Action:
Reich
Consulting Services (RCS) initiated, designed, and published
National’s first issue of “Wound Healing Perspectives”
in order to help the wound care experts at National’s
centers better apply the latest technologies and solutions to
heal their patients. The
inaugural issue discussed CMS’s decision to approve
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Diabetic Foot Ulcers and
provided information about how diabetes increases patients’
risk of slow-healing wounds.
The goal of the quarterly newsletter is
to facilitate the clinical information necessary so that
physicians and clinicians can get involved early in the
treatment process to speed each patient's healing by focusing
on a specific type of wound.
Results: The newsletter was also used
as an education tool at a national physician symposium in
2003, and the newsletter template developed by RCS has been
further improved by National in order to continue publishing
ongoing quarterly issues on such subjects as wounds of the
lower extremities, venous leg ulcers, and radiation injuries
