The OUTfielder™
In lengthy conversations with decision makers at some of the largest radio-pharmacy companies in the
United States, we (the gollman group and M & O Perry Industries) asked about their concerns regarding
radiation exposure to their radio-pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Almost without exception, their
concern was to
“GET THEIR HANDS OUT OF THE FIELD !!”
Of course, they were referring to your hands in the radiation field with which you deal on a daily basis.
We discussed the basics of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and how – time, distance and
shielding can affect radiation exposure levels. We also talked about cGMP and the impact it can have on
day-to-day operations.
With this information clearly in mind, the engineers at M & O Perry went to work on a product design.
We now have a product that does answer the need to “get your hands out of the radiation field.” This
system provides meaningful support to the ALARA mandate. This product will help you address the
requirements that may arise relating to cGMP since it can easily fit into most laminar flow hoods. So….
what else could we possibly name this product other than to call it? The OUTfielder™
